AutoCAD vs Tekla for steel detailing
Tekla is a 3D modelling package the big detailing houses use for large, complex projects - powerful, but heavier and priced for volume work.
AutoCAD 2D detailing is fast, flexible and cost-effective for domestic and small-to-medium jobs - single beams, goalposts, mezzanines, staircases and extensions.
For most builders, fabricators and homeowners, AutoCAD detailing gives exactly what the shop needs without the overheads of a 3D model - which is what I offer.
