Steel goalpost frames explained
A goalpost frame is two steel columns with a beam across the top - shaped like a goalpost - used to form a wide opening, such as a knock-through, bi-fold opening or rear extension.
It transfers the loads down the columns to the foundations instead of into the walls at the sides, which is why it suits big openings.
